Quizillicious

Okay, so this quiz was just too much fun sounding not to do.
Here is me (not surprisingly):

What romanticized outlaw are you? (w\Pics!)

-Gypsy-You are a lover of song and dance, a pursuer of pleasures of all types, and a mystery to most people. Gypsies embody the "forbidden pleasures" of mankind, and revel in their non-conformity. Pride in the individual characterizes them, but they are of course not above compassion. Or petty thievery, when they can get away with it. The most romantic outlaw.

and Aaron (not surprisingly):

What romanticized outlaw are you? (w\Pics!)

-Barbarian-You rush in, kill the monsters, steal the tressure, and rescue the maiden. Simple, bold, easy. You revel in physical strength and appearances and don't worry much about the mental side of things. You are base and savage for the most part, but therin lies your strength. You are loyal to those few who you call friend. For you, love is more of a matter of flesh then heart, though you are capable of love.

The End

what its all about

So...

Being excellent to each other. Isn't that a big part of what the Good News is all about?

We have been given the opportunity to know and interact with the Living God. To have His breath, His creative spirit, move within us and speak to our hearts. We are invited to be His children and heir to His Kingdom.

Not only has every person we gaze upon been extended this invitation- but every being has been designed to reflect a different facet of His character. Isn't that exciting? I think that when we are told to love, we are in part being told to encourage. When we love something, we invest ourselves in it, we do what we can to see it come into completion and rise to its fullest potential.

Followers of Christ are supposed to be the salt of the earth and known by their love. Sadly, this is rarely the case. we are often the hops of the earth (bittering agent) and known by our intolerance and frailty. i hope that all of us that seek Him can be truly transformed more and more so that we really live a life of love. Because that is what it is about. we need to be loving the world. there is so much death, anger, resentment and conflict going on in the world right now- and most of it is born out of religious extremism. We are to fight it by loving. Loving everyone. the annoying. the needy. the emotionally unstable. ever person ever born is seen by Him as pure and robed in glory. I pray that i can keep my eyes on the Father and my heart turned to Him all the time, so that when I interact with the world, I love it. and bring Light into this place.

Basil moments....

Again, nothing too profound. Just in awe of how good God is and how blessed I am to have such an awesome little man.

So here is a picture of Basil from this winter when he found a delicious piece of charred wood.
And here is one of baby Shorn:

snow in the sun

I looked out my window this morning- though it was sunny it seemed to be raining a bit and the little drop were glistening in the light. As I looked a few danced around in my field of view. Snow? It seemed so warm. I saw it again.

Later I found out that my cousin left this world in a tragic accident this morning as well. Snow in the sun. Sudden frost but at least she was doing what she loved and lived life following her passion and her dream. Somewhere there is celebrating while they welcome her home. Somewhere else there is crying while we all question why. Loved by her family; claimed by the sea.

Here's to a big smile and gracious chuckle.
Here's to her honesty and humor.
Here's to Piper.
A cousin, a sister, a daughter, a friend.

I will miss her.

The Man's radio.... its out there

So, I was driving along to my destination and an exceedingly beautiful song came on the radio, classical guitar fraught with emotion, it was glorious, nonetheless, when I arrived I turned off my car (Basil was inside at Mumsie's house and I missed him!).

As i walked toward the house I thought about how I was missing the song even though it was still there, waving around. I couldn't hear it. I knew the station, I knew the time, but I wasn't utilizing the proper equipment to hear.

We need to take the time to listen to what God wants us to hear. We know the station, the time is right, He is always broadcasting something. We need to stop and still our hearts and listen to His radio. Its beautiful.

Some songs get a lot of play and there are some out there that we might miss if we dont tune it.
